In this exhibition, which focuses on the study of sologamy (marriage to or with oneself), Katrīna Neiburga reflects through emotional saturation and light irony on this phenomenon.
In several video episodes, the author has created a close-up self-observation in various everyday situations: in a sensitive conversation or a heated argument with herself, dancing with domestic objects to a favourite song, in expressions of love and sexuality, accepting herself here and now.
Are we looking for any excuses for self-esteem? And if we do, why? Katrīna Neiburga's close-up art is not an answer to the posed questions, but a resonant encouragement to get a grip, cross the awkward boundary and finally develop a living relationship with oneself.
