The warming up for the Summer Solstice celebration in the Labietis courtyard has already become a tradition and an important summer cultural event, bringing together hundreds of Rigans and city guests to celebrate the forthcoming solstice with dance and beer.
As every year, we will start the celebration with decorating the yard, installing the Midsummer gates and weaving wreaths.
There will also be the lighting of the maypole and the inexpressibly delicious food. The beer will of course be taken care of by Labietis. Beer will be available both in the pub and in tents on the event grounds.
Event programme
17.00 Wreath weaving workshops, setting up the venue, installation of the Midsummer gates and singing with folklore groups Grodi and Garataka.
20.00 Dancing with folklore groups Grodi and Garataka
21.00 Preparation and raising of the maypole, dancing around the maypole with folklore group Vilkači.
23.00 Dancing with folklore group "Upīte"
