The largest champagne festival in the Baltics, popular with champagne lovers and gourmets, will take place over four days. This year, renowned Champagne cult figures, winemakers, farmers, ambassadors from the industry and landlords will be visiting Riga.
The Champagne Festival will open on Thursday, March 27 with the Epic Rosé Party, where guests will be treated to a selection of fine and seductive rosé champagnes.
On March 28, the Big Champagne Celebration will take place at Barents Restaurant with a multi-course dinner, where champagne lovers will be entertained by champagne cult figures, winemakers, farmers, wine merchants and ambassadors of the industry.
New to the festival is the Chefs + Champagne Symposium, where Latvian chefs will combine delicacies and champagne, which will take place on March 29 at the Hanzas Perons venue. During the event, each chef, together with a sommelier and under the guidance of master of ceremonies, host Valdis Melders, will present their food and champagne combinations, while the jury and visitors to the symposium will vote for their favorite.
The festival will culminate on March 29 with the Great Sparkling Wine Parade. The parade will bring together more than a thousand Latvian, Baltic and Northern European gourmets for the 13th time to taste more than 150 champagnes and sparkling wines. The event will feature presentations by leading Latvian and Baltic importers, champagne winemakers, wine houses and industry ambassadors, as well as master classes from world-class experts.
On the final day of the festival on March 30, a lunch-dinner will present special magnum bottles and other great champagnes from the cellars of the iconic Geoffroy, Tarlant and Agrapart wineries. Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy and Benoit Tarlant will be present at the event to present their champagnes.
