The International Exhibition of Illustrators features 48 professional illustrators from 12 European countries, as well as two artists from further afield: Colombia and Israel. 18 of the artists are Estonians, including the exhibition's curator, Viive Noor.
The exhibition showcases illustrations by Latvian artists, including Gita Treice, Gundega Muzikante, Aleksey Naumov, Anita Paegle, Arta Ozola-Jaunarāja, and Andas Strautniece. The artists immediately responded to the curator's idea of the mysterious forest, offering a diverse interpretation of the traditional and, at the same time, symbolically rich concept of "forest". The Estonian Children's Literature Centre exhibition highlights common features in the development of illustration art and strengthens cultural cooperation.
