The exhibition is organised in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Latvia and the company Azerkhalcha. It will showcase traditional Azerbaijani carpet weaving and the company's latest collection "Fruits of the Garden". The main motif of the exhibition is the pomegranate, a symbol of abundance, life, love and unity in Azerbaijani culture.
The unique carpets are made using 3D weaving technology, in collaboration between Azerkhalcha and young artist Samira Allahverdiyeva. The carpets, which come in different sizes and designs, are a tribute to the pomegranate and tell the story of both the country's historically significant Pomegranate Festival and the traditional weaving of carpets as part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage.
For almost a century, Azerkhalcha has maintained Azerbaijan's traditional carpet weaving tradition, combining classical craftsmanship with contemporary design. It produces high-quality hand-woven carpets. The company's mission is to create rugs as unique works of art, fusing centuries-old traditions with the conceptual vision of contemporary artists and environmentally friendly practices.
