The Ukrainian Dance Platform presents the contemporary dance performances Danse Macabre, The Traces and The Trap, created over the last two years. Each of the performances is dedicated to exploring and pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance, drawing on European and Ukrainian cultural traditions.
Ukrainian contemporary dance is characterized by a strong emotional response to what is happening around us. It avoids complicated philosophical concepts, but draws inspiration from Ukrainian history, art and culture, with choreographers exploring the roots of Ukrainian identity and connecting them with contemporary trends.
