The concert by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will feature two emotional realms. In the first half, we explore the bright, uplifting spirit of Mozart through his Piano Concerto in C Major and German Dances. These are complemented by Gundaris Pone’s 1987 work, in which he portrays his wife Mariolina and elegantly draws inspiration from the best of the 18th and 19th centuries. Meanwhile, the second half brings us Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, its two movements brimming with the intense, expressive qualities of the new Romantic era.
