Schumann's music mirrors his own face - multifaceted, charming, and complicated. Some of this is also present in Manfred, the protagonist of Byron's play. Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto was written during the composer's formative years and will be performed by Aurelija Šimkus with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) under the baton of Jānis Stafeckas. And - what a long-awaited event - the premiere of a symphony by LNSO composer-in-Residence Eriks Ešenvalds!
Programme:
Robert Schumann Overture "Manfred"
Eric Eschenvalds Symphony (first performance)
Ludwig van Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5
