The concert by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will feature an opus by the Hungarian folk music scholar Kodály, inspired by the tradition of Romani ensembles, the Piano Concerto written in Grieg's youth, which has become one of the greatest in history, and Dvořák's symphony From the New World, where unprecedented travel impressions and a deep longing for home come together.
The young Finnish conductor Kristian Sallinen will give a reading of the concert programme with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.
