Performance The Wild Swans

In a distant kingdom, eleven princes transform into swans every morning, cursed to always fly away from their homeland. Only their sister, Elisa, can save them, for her love for her brothers has the power to break all curses. A world of magic and fantasy and a heartwarming story of a family’s resilience in the face of adversity – such is the new interpretation of Raimonds Pauls and Māra Zālīte’s “The Wild Swans”, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fairy tale.

The young director Klāvs Mellis is set to remake maestro Raimonds Pauls' musical "The Wild Swans" with a fresh perspective. Joining him in this creative endeavor are the talented scenographers from the group Grāfienes, choreographer Rūdolfs Gediņš and lighting designer Reinis Zalte. The classic musical by Raimonds Pauls and Māra Zālīte will be performed with new arrangements and a different ensemble of musicians.  Librettist and poet Māra Zālīte, together with the composer, has even written new songs for the show, reimagining this beloved and familiar work in a more contemporary light.
