Exhibition "Ilga Vanaga. Zigzags"

The exhibition is dedicated to one of the most important Latvian porcelain artists Ilga Vanaga (1928-2013). The aim of the exhibition is to point out the heritage of industrial porcelain art of the second half of the 20th century and highlight the contribution of an individual artist to the meaning of industrially produced art.

Her work marks two important periods in Latvian art history. The first stage is connected with her work at the Riga Porcelain Factory, where she was part of the development of Soviet modernist industrial design. The second phase is her work in ceramics and her creative and experimental ceramics studio "Ķīpsalas keramika", where she created original and expressive works using clay and chamotte.
At the same time, the museum's windows will be decorated with an exhibition of Sarmīte Munde's works "Porcelain in the Vast".
