Performance Tartuffe

The comedy Tartuffe (1664) by the great French playwright Molière, which has already been tested by the flow of centuries, has not lost its relevance to this day.

This ironic story, which can be seen as both pessimistic and optimistic, makes you laugh, but also think seriously about who rules (or tries to rule) minds today and why. The plot is constructed around Tartuffe – a man who has successfully subjugated a rich nobleman to his will. Under the influence of Tartuffe, the said nobleman brings the situation in his own house to the point of absurdity and even farce, despite the indignation and protest of his family and those around him. Paradoxically, the events and moral of the play still look alive and recognizable today, once again proving the phenomenon of Molière's timeless talent.

City comedy by Molière.
Directed by Sergey Golomazov.
