Exhibition of works by Valentīna Aksjonova

In the retrospective exhibition of works by Valentīna Aksjonova (1941), visitors will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the artist's diverse work. From 1969 to 1977 V. Aksjonova worked at the Riga Porcelain Factory, where she mainly created forms for consumer goods, such as children's dishes, compote and spice bowls. Her forms were often chosen by other artists to create decorations for representative purposes.

In addition to her work at the factory, V. Aksjonova also created her own unique porcelain forms, including servers and vases. She worked on decors of the factory and created original paintings in a complex underglaze technique using cobalt, salts and underglaze paints. The artist often experimented with both porcelain forms and processing techniques, creating unique original works in this way. The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to see the wide creative spectrum in which the ceramist worked.

At the same time, the museum is also showing a magnificent exhibition of works by the artist Gayane Agajanian, whose art interweaves exotic and oriental motifs with elements of flora and fauna.
